Scott has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since 2003. After taking an Introduction to Massage course during a break from studying Psychology at university, he became profoundly interested in massage and knew he had found his calling. He takes pride in being able to assist people in their well-being and in seeing their constant improvement. He believes that most individuals’ aches and pains are myofascial (muscle and connective tissue) in origin, and that keeping a member well informed helps the member better understand their condition and make better choices involving their care. Part of this information is distinguishing Causes from Symptoms – just because we feel pain/discomfort in one area doesn’t mean that’s where the problem is coming from.
Treatment is about returning the body back to balance, whether releasing excessive tension, strengthening weak muscles, stabilizing a loose joint, or increasing the range of a restricted one. Massage is able to assist with this returning the body back to its natural state of balance. In his pursuit to assist members achieve health and wellness, Scott has taken many courses over the years to expand his abilities. These courses include: Graston Certified Practitioner, Assessment and Treatment of Athletes, Soft Tissue Release (STR), Treatment of Headaches, Scapular Stretch and Rotator Cuff Release (SSRR 1 & 2)Pre-natal Massage and Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) as well as many others.
At Joint Reaction Health Center , Scott will provide the member with a plan that will help them improve in the quickest way they can. If certain Physiotherapy techniques would help the member improve faster, he will refer you to one of our Physiotherapists, with whom he will help create a joint comprehensive plan.
